FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

Aromatherapy Products

What are your candles made of?

  • Zen Aromas soy candles are made with all-natural soy wax, braided eco-friendly cotton wicks, and essential/fragrance oils. Just wax, wick, and scent with no other additives or dyes.

Where are your products made?

  • All of our products are handcrafted and hand-packaged in our home workshop in Maryland.

Do you have a store I can visit in-person?

  • At this time, we do not have a stand-alone store of our own.

How long do your candles last?

  • As long as you keep the wick trimmed and only burn them for 4 hours at a time, our candles last approximately 60-72 hours, depending on the size of the vessel.

Should I burn a particular scented candle in a particular room/space?

  • Each of our candles has its own individual character. Although some scents may be stronger than others, you should move your candle around the house in different rooms, in order to determine which candle smells best in each room.

Why should I trim the wick and only burn your candles for 4 hours at a time?

  • These are common instructions and good practices for any candle and are meant to prolong a candle’s burn time. A longer wick creates a larger flame and a larger flame melts the wax faster. So, the longer your candle burns, the larger the flame gets, causing your candle to melt faster.

  • Keeping the wick trimmed and burning 4 hours at a time slows everything down so you get a longer burn time.

  • Additionally, burning your candle for 4 hours at a time ensures that the wax melts all the way to the edge of the jar. The melted wax (not the flame) is what gives off your candle’s scent, so this will maximize your candle’s scent when lit.

How quickly will my order ship?

  • We make every effort to ship your orders as quickly as possible.

  • Shipping days are typically on Mondays and Thursdays for items placed no later than 3pm EST.

  • Holiday shipping is usually same day or next day. Currently, all orders are shipped from southern Maryland via USPS Priority Mail.

  • You will receive a tracking number for your order when it is fulfilled. By default, our packages do not require a signature. All orders over $100 come with free shipping.

What makes an all-natural soy wax candle different?

  • While paraffin wax is refined from crude oil, soy wax is made from soybeans, a completely renewable resource grown here in the US.

  • Compared to paraffin, soy wax burns cleaner with no petrol-carbon soot.

  • Soy wax also burns slower than paraffin, so soy wax candles also last longer.

Can I buy your products wholesale to sell them in my store?

Healing Haven Book Club + Support Group

What’s the difference between the Healing Haven Book Club and the Support Group?

  • They’re the same thing. The program is called the Healing Haven Book Club and Support Group.

  • During our group meetings, we will focus on reading and discussing wellness-related books. So, think about topics like trauma healing, nervous system care, neurodivergence, and self-compassion.

  • The Support Group offers a space to process, unmask, share, and practice nervous system regulation tools together.

What types of books do you read in the Book Club?

  • We focus on trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, and self-development-centered books. Think of books like No Bad Parts, The Body Keeps the Score, and Atomic Habits.

  • We intentionally choose books that spark healing conversations and personal insight.

  • We will vote on which book we will read, collectively.

Is the Support Group therapy?

  • No, it’s not therapy and doesn’t replace mental health treatment.

  • It’s a peer-led, trauma-informed space where we explore tools like breathwork, yoga, body scans, journaling, and group discussions.

  • It’s more of a virtual community that offers nervous system awareness and emotional support.

Do I have to talk or share to be part of the group?

  • Not at all. This is a consent-based space. You’re welcome to simply listen, observe, and engage only when and how you feel comfortable.

  • Silence is welcome and any way of participating is valid.

How often do you meet? And where?

  • The group meets monthly for a 60-90 minute virtual meet-up that includes a variety of mindfulness practices, gentle movement, reflection, and discussions.

Can I join if I’m new to yoga or still learning about trauma or healing work?

  • Absolutely. No prior experience is needed.

  • This space is designed to be gentle, welcoming, and beginner-friendly. You bring your story and an open-mind, and we’ll bring the support.

What happens after I sign up for the membership?

  • We honor choice, consent, and body autonomy in every episode.

Are there guided practices on the podcast, or is it all educational?

  • Both! Some episodes are focused on nervous system science and self-awareness, while others offer guided breathwork, gentle yoga flows, or mindfulness practices you can do right from your bed, couch, or chair.
