Private Somatic Yoga (Adult)
Personalized Somatic Yoga Session
Service Description
Somatic work invites us to tune into the wisdom of the body. In our sessions, we’ll explore movement, breath, and stillness as a way to release tension, process emotions, and build a stronger mind-body connection. This is a gentle, body-based pathway to healing that helps you listen to and trust your inner cues. These somatic yoga sessions focus on gentle, mindful movement that cultivates body awareness, release tension, and restore the nervous system. Somatic yoga emphasizes internal perception and felt experience and invites students to slow down, tune in, and move with intention rather than striving for physical achievement or aesthetic poses. During these sessions, movements are often small and subtle, designed to help the student sense and feel what’s happening internally. Instead of flowing quickly between poses, each movement is broken down and repeated slowly to retrain the body and nervous system. We also focus on the breath as a tool for grounding, regulation, and embodiment. Sessions will incorporate elements of trauma-informed care, like invitational language, choice-making, and grounding techniques. The goal is to help students come into a more regulated, present state by connecting with the body in a safe and gentle way. Rather than perfecting poses, students are encouraged to explore what feels right for their own body. Somatic yoga is particularly beneficial for: • Trauma survivors • Neurodivergent individuals • People recovering from injury or chronic pain • Anyone seeking a gentler, more intuitive approach to yoga and embodiment Your experience begins with a free 15-minute consultation to explore your intentions and ensure your practice is fully aligned with your wellness needs. Each private session includes: - a customized yoga practice tailored to your goals - a customized treatment plan - meditation - weekly homework - a trauma-informed approach - somatic movement practices - mindfulness techniques and breathwork for emotional regulation - modifications for safety and accessibility - personalized feedback to support your growth and healing - personal attunement and presence - follow up assessments - mind body centering
